since everyone used a client which spreads their units around on the planet automaticly, I'm wondering if we need adventurism, or at least, if it should do the same thing...

we have 3 things we can do, leave it as is, remove it completely, or make it the thing that determines how fast you move on the surface (metabolism and mass may do the same thing).

since the system may be run turnless, I'm thinking that speading should be something that should be automatic, or at least something you direct with a couple of options.

make it automatic and have adventurism set how fast your pop spreads with out your direct intervention

I agree make it automatic. How high you set your advent should determin how fast your pop spreads.

cool, I'm going to make it so people can't move into squares they don't own. I'm not sure how to stop people  from just using shuttles or pods to move around on the planet, but I'll think of something.

Ok I'm confused. Do you mean that the population would not spread to take ownership of a previously unowned habitable square, and that you would prevent any forced movement by the player into that square until they had "Captured" it?

I think this would make the game much to slow. I'd have to build military forces move them into the square. Capture the square and then move population in...

that isn't quite what I meant, basicly I was looking at something like this...

planetry movement happens over a bunch of time.
any "spare" aps go into spreading population automaticly.

so, it doesn't matter to the game if you are using a autospreader or not, you will spread at the same rate.
