[Gawkextlib-developer] gawk-xml-1.1.1 distribution tarball possibly outdated

I'm revising the current status of the whole gawkexlib site in order to 
update the project web pages. And found some possible glitches.

One of them is a failing make check of gawk-xml when building from the 
tarball. The failure is due to lack of support for Japanese encodings.

But everything is Ok when building from the sources in the repo or from 
the snapshot tarball.

Can anybody confirm if it is a real bug? And not a failure on my part?
