Hello, Jerome:
I am the guy who asked you about M^2.
I installed your latest available software. My computer has Wndows XP.
What I found: the menu options: "Open", "Save", "Save as" hang the program. The good news,the hanged program is easily shut down.
Now, there are other things: the wavelength goes up to 9999 nm , I fill sorry for those CO2 guys with 10.6 um laser.
Most important for me now, as I am trying to calculate the beam propagation from a multimode fiber with 400 im core and 0.22 NA:
why do you have a 10 mm limit on the vertical scale? Try to calculate a beam with waist - 200 um, M^2 = 170 and half a meter propagation.
Please, do not limit the vertical scale or limit it to some unprobable number, like 10000 km. The horizontal scale (width) is also limited to 10 meters.
Why would you do it?
You didn't listen to my suggestion to change the beam representation from filled with wavelenght color region to just a curve. Beleive me, it is important,
especially if you introduce astigmatic beams - the beams with different properties in X and Y. It is not difficult to implement, after everything you have
done.
