To all who have waited for 1.5 to be released, I send my greatest apologies. I am the sole developer for Gather at this time and I had to take some time off. I've still got the Gather code at a point where it is "about to be released", but I'd like to fix a couple of bugs and re-write the installer to make it easier.
Gather 1.5 is still on the way...time is just thin right now.
Please contact me at juneau001@gmail.com if you have any ideas for release 2.0. That version is still underway as well and it is a major re-write of the current implementation.... read more
Gather 2.0 is still under heavy development at this time. It is definitely a good thing to see the JDBC code stripped out of the application and replaced with EJB3 logic...but it takes lots of time.
That being said, I'd like to release some of the code for preview within the next few weeks. I want this early access alpha release to contain at least a few of the new features so that there are visible application changes as well. I do not have any hard dates as of this time, but I do hope to have something available within the next few weeks for review.... read more
The upcoming release of Gather is still under development. I send my apologies on the long delay, but my time has been less flexible over the past couple of months. However, to not be alarmed...Gather 2.0 is still on it's way!
Just to keep you enticed and interested in some upcoming features, here is a small list of the more visible ones:
- Customizable slide show on side box
- Chat server...host your own reunion meeting place
- Rememberance Page: Devote a page on your site to those whom you'd like to remember that are no longer with us
- Stats Page: Already had your reunion? Post some stats to keep people visiting the site...... read more
The next generation of the Gather reunion application is under development. The next release will focus on application mobility and cross-platform implementation.
Version 2 will be implemented using Java EE technologies once again, but we are planning to use more Java EE features to make the application more robust and portable. Amongst the planned changes, the next version will use the JBOSS SEAM framework along with EJB 3.0 technologies. This will enable the source to be more easily managed and also allow for deployment with many different database platforms. If you would like to suggest specific database vendor support, please drop us a note using this site. ... read more

Gather 1.1 has been released!
All open reported issues have been resolved. Please use the update download to update your Gather 1.0 environment. If you are new to Gather, we welcome you to download the 1.1 full installation to get started.
IMPORTANT NOTE: In Gather 1.1, the major change is that the site administrator must manually change regisered users status from NOT REGISTERED to REGISTERED in some cases. Such cases arise when a member does not register under the same name in which the site administrator has listed them within the Member Catalog. This change mitigates the duplicate registration error. Therefore, it is highly desirable to upgrade from Gather 1.0 to 1.1 to alleviate duplicate registrations from occurring.... read more
All open issues have been successfully resolved. I am hoping to release the next distribution this coming weekend. You will not see any visual adjustments in the 1.1 release unless you are using the FireFox browser. In that case, you will find that the text and footers have been centered to match the layout of Internet Explorer with regards to the Gather! application.
You will also find that all registration bugs have been repaired. ... read more
