Hi people,
I see the post "How to I run Garux on a Palm IIIc?", then I want know if someone is creating some bootloader that work like Garux on native M68K processors?
Cheers,
Alan
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
On the page at http://palm-linux.sourceforge.net/#download there is mention of a PalmLoader, Which does exactly the same thing as garux, but for 68k palms. I believe the source code for the loader is included with uCLinux.

Yes, touchscreen is all in the kernel. The bootloader has nothing to do with it.
For touchscreen you will need to find out how it is interfaced to the cpu, and write or find a driver.

Yes, although it doesn't look like anyone is actively working on the project anymore. It's quite old:
http://palm-linux.sourceforge.net/
I tried UClinux, and it needs a serial connection, my alphasmart dana connects with USB, and it did not work.
can Garux run on 68k processors if its recomplied.
No, the method that garux uess to boot is completely incompatible with the 68k palms.
so could the bootloader be modified? or is there more involved?

So you are saying use the UCLinux Palm Loader to boot a better Linux image, like one that can actually respond to the touch screen?
Yes, touchscreen is all in the kernel. The bootloader has nothing to do with it.
For touchscreen you will need to find out how it is interfaced to the cpu, and write or find a driver.
So this means that that serial cable requirement can be removed?
