#1 First 4 characters of waypoint names lost

When calling the get-waypoints function, the first 4
characters of the waypoint names are all lost - if the
name is 4 characters or less then the name is just
blank. Names of 10 characters get cut to the last 6.
Running version 1.0.1 from Knoppix 3.7 against a Garmin
eTrex Vista. (Running Gartrip on Windows shows the
full waypoint names, but this has an option for
"waypoint name length" which is set to 10).

I also had compilation problems, partly due to the link to
"../../serial-src/unix/serial.h" in test.cp and partly
due to it not finding "string" without a "std::"
