I answer only now to your question as I was on vacations the best part of August. I have never tried GAOL with OpenMP and cannot assure you that it is thread safe. It uses bison and flex, which may not be thread safe either. I will investigate the matter. Thank you for your report.

Is Gaol capable of beeing run in parallel with OpenMP?
It seems to crash whenever I try.
During last attemp I got the error:
"called after throwing an instance of 'gaol::input_format_error'"
