The version of msproject-parser (mpxj) currently in use is rather outdated. For better interoperatibility with other tools it is sometimes necessary to submit patches to mpxj-project (s. e.g. http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1881769&group_id=70649&atid=528541 ), where it seems only the head maintained today. Attached is a path that would upgrade the project to current state of mpxj (Version 2.0.0 as of 2007-10-08).
A drawback - it requires now JRE5.0 .
