Forgive me if this is a repeat of a request however searches through the forums have turned up nothing. I cannot find this functionality within the program but am surprised it is not available. maybe I'm missing something obvious?
I am tracking the progress of a project and have a number of tasks where I allocated a start date and duration. Part way through the project I open the gantt chart and enter the percentage complete for each of the tasks thus far. I would like a simple update function that then steps through each task and if the task is behind schedule then it splits the task and assumes that it will be starting today. In short I want to move all unstarted or incomplete tasks to be moved to occur today and afterwards. Based on the predecessor rules I have set then this should give me an updated completion date (with which I can then go grovelling to the customer apologetically :)).
Is this something that is avilable. If not is there a plan for it to be incorporated? It does not appear to be described in the functionality voting area.

There is no such functionality in the current stable GanttProject and there are no explicit plans of implementing it. However, we are working on implementation of (pluggable) filters that do something similar. You will be able to have a look in milestone M3 of GP 2.1
