I've recently been testing Ganglia 3.0.1 on our OS X cluster (panther
10.3). For some reason,
gmond is unable to resolve it's own hostname and sets the 'HOST NAME'
to the ip address.
I looked at Ganglia_host_get() in gmond.c and sure enough,
apr_getnameinfo fails and the hostname is set to the ip.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I searched with google and
it seems that others have experienced trouble with apr_getnameinfo on
OS X too.
Is this an OS bug that has been fixed in tiger (10.4) because I
cannot reproduce the problem on my Powerbook that is running tiger.
