Even though input controls will have their own figment class, we'll need some sort of controls which are always avaliable even without the input figment.
Pause/break I think should be the magic key to pause the program and escape any fullscreen modes. Pushing pause/break again should resume again.
The world should also be able to deal with orderly requests from the OS to do things like close.
