Dear Gambit users, I have problems replicating the behaviour of Gambit GUI with the command-line tools. For example, when I feed the attached game (prueba.efg) to the GUI, and ask it to compute "as many Nash eq. as possible", it almost immediately comes up with one and subsequently stops. It claims to have obtained it "by solving a linear complementarity program in extensive game". But >gambit-lcp -S prueba.efg just computes for minutes without any result. Shouldn't these two operations be equivalent? For completion, I've tried all other methods offered by the command-line version of gambit, and none has been able to find a Nash. It's entirely possible that I'm missing something obvious, though. Thanks for any advice. Cheers, Manolo -- |

Hello all Gambit users, I have undertaken to update the Gambit graphical interface to build with the latest wxWidgets (2.9.4). I've created an issue on the issue tracker for this: https://github.com/gambitproject/gambit/issues/38 I would very much welcome reports of success or failure in building or running this. Hello Niklas, The format is straightforward. The file referenced in the -L switch should contain one line of comma-separated frequencies, one for each strategy (or action if you're using the agent version). Strategies (or actions) are listed in sequence: player 1 strategy 1, player 1 strategy 2, … player 1 strategy K, player 2 strategy 1, … and so on. The output is in the same format, except each line is prepended with the value of lambda, and postponed with the log-likelihood of the QRE with that lambda. The routine will report log-likelihoods for many QRE profiles as it computes. When it brackets a maximiser, it will go into a Newton mode to compute the maximising lambda quite accurately. You should take the output of the tool and sort on the last column to locate the likelihood-maximising QRE. Hi, I am Anirudh V from India of age 18. I am doing my bachelors in Computer science at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. I am greatly interested in Game theory and its applications. When i was surfing the web for Books and courses for game theory i stumbled upon "The gambit project" and its application regarding game theory. I downloaded it on my mac and used it until some extent. I was really satisfied by it and it helped me in my learning of game theory as i could simulate games in it in a very intuitive way. Then i googled about 'The Gambit Project' and came to know that it was open source and it was then i decided that i could contribute to it being a computer science student as well as a game theory enthusiast. I saw the gambit project in the list of organisations selected for GSoC , so i am thinking of applying to it. I felt GSoC was one way i could make my contribution to Gambit project. But being new to GSoC and open source coding , i don't have any idea as to where i can start from ? Can anyone help me out in this, i would be grateful for it. Dear all I've prepared a manuscript on "Robustness Analysis of Nash Equilibria" and I'm trying to find an appropriate journal to submit it for consideration. The top journals in the field of Game theory such as "Game and Economic Behavior" have such long review processes (even around 1 year) that I can't bear!!! Does any one know an ISI journal on the subject that their review process in a little shorter? Thanks for your help Kind Regards Gelareh Veisi |

Is there a software like Gambit to compute correlated equilibria of matrix games? As correlated equilibria are computed using a linear program, it is straightforward to use the Gambit library to compute these with your favourite LP solver. 2. How many correlated equilibria does a finite matrix game have? Based on the answer to (1), a matrix game has either one or infinitely many correlated equilibria; these are the only possibilities. Dear Gambit users, I'm begginning with gambit, by building an extensive game of a prey-predator. I've downloaded the last version for windows (with installer, .exe). After building my tree and trying to introduce the payoffs, I've double-click on the (u), and introduce the payoffs. However, the values did not hold, and return to zero. Any suggestion? Many thanks Pablo |

Hi all, I'm new here... I'm following this tutorial[1], but, in the page 298, when I click the button to show the reduced strategic form, the Gambit program just closes. Does anyone know why this happen? Thanks in advance! Hi: I'm the fourth-year student in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University in Canada. And I'm good at python and c++ and have experience with using git or svn. I'm interested your the ideas in " http://www.gambit-project.org/doc/ideas.html", especially the last one(Representing two-player correlated equilibrium payoffs). But there's only a few sentences about this idea in this page. So where can I find more information about it for my proposal? Thx a lot -- Owen Min |

We'll need a bit more information in order to try to sort this. What method(s) for computing equilibria have you tried? Can anyone help me? is this game to complicated for Gambit, or is it just my hardware not good enough (windows: Core 2 Duo 2,5 Ghz; debian Celeron 1,5 Ghz) Or maybe you could suggest me some other software to compute the equilibrium in this game. I will appreciate any help. maciej |

Hello all, A common request I get is for a pre-built version of Gambit for Mac. This has turned out to be a bit of a challenge to produce. Even though almost all Gambit development occurs on a Mac, I have never had convenient access to an entirely "clean" system, where all the support files, libraries, and so forth were absent. Every time I've tried to build an app bundle of Gambit, it would work super on my own Macbook, but fail on others, for reasons I could never fully determine. I am now the proud owner of a new, just-off-the-shelf Mac Mini, which is just such a "clean" system. I have taken advantage of this situation to produce a Gambit app bundle which I have tested, and which works on the new computer (Intel, OS X 10.6). I am making it available for download: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/779637/Gambit-20110106.dmg If you are a Mac user, please download the disk image, and give the application a try. Please report back your results -- both if you fail, and, just as importantly, if you have success -- to me *offlist* at T.T...@ue...<mailto:T.T...@ue...>. Please let me know your hardware setup and version of OS X you are running. I *believe* the version linked above should work for OS X 10.4 and higher, and should also work on PPC. I do not have any non-Intel, non-10.6 systems to verify these claims at this point, so feedback from users in those categories would be especially valuable. Ted |

Hi, I wonder if anyone has successfully compiled gambit on snow leopard? In my try, the compiler complains "warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to ‘char*’ " many times and then pops up "[pelqhull.o] Error 1". I have tried to google with no luck. Any hint will also be helpful. regards, -- Fan bin Beijing, China(PRC) |

Dear gambit users: Does any one have a matlab code to find Nash Equilibria of multi-player static games(for example a 3-player game)? Or has any one used Gambit in matlab environment? Thanks in advance Gelareh Veisi |
