I have albums that are only available to logged-in users. I would like to use these albums with Google's screensaver.
Therefore, I would like to ask to extend the RSS module so that it optionally allows login credentials to be passed in the URL.
Please see bug 1828175 for further info.

I'd say this is a feature request and not a bug.
RSS with cookies works fine. Having a way to make Google's screensaver be a proxy for you including your cookies isn't really a feature that is obviously missing / having it missing doesn't break anything within the G2 world.
Changing the type to feature request.

Sorry, I didn't mean to open a "bug." In fact I'm pretty sure I *did* make it a "feature request." OTOH I'm not very familiar with this issue-tracking tool, I can't even find a way to look up its current "issue type." :-(
Anyway, to make it very clear: When I initially filed an issue for the "Gallery Remote" module (the "screensaver" more specifically) I was talking about cookies until "paour" suggested to pass the login credentials with the URL. If I understand things correctly, this does *not* involve cookies. If the client passes the credentials in each and every request, you don't need cookies.
