don't show thousands separator after decimal

I've typed the number 12345.6789 into galculator and gcalctool to show the difference.

I use the en_US.utf8 locale and the having the thousands separator used in a decimal number looks awkward.

Could this be made a user-selectable option? Or make galculator choose the best option based on the users' locale perhaps?
