Perhaps some code was partly inherited from g2calc :)
1. The cursor is not visible when the focus is on the keypad instead of the entry box, even though things are actually inserted at the cursor when you press keys (I'm not sure it is possible to fix this - at least things ARE inserted at the cursor :) ).
2. The backspace key deletes the last character, instead of the character to the left of the cursor, or the selection (BTW it would be nice to have delete button as well - they could be labelled like this <> )
3. If some text is selected in the entry bar when a button is pressed, the selected text is not deleted.
4. The constant and user-defined function butttons do not work.

For that matter it would be useful to have an ANS constant and button in FORM mode :) - or perhaps even better, access to the answer history, on a button like the MR button maybe

I'm also frustrated with the functionality of cursor placement and deletion in formula mode. You can place the cursor somewhere in a formula and insert something, but not delete. As the original bug report states, instead backspace always deletes the last character in the entry, regardless of cursor position.

As noted, the delete key also clears the entire entry field, rather than deleting the character to the right.

This bug report was created in 2009, with no apparent attention since then. Is this not considered a bug? This is such a basic aspect of entering formulas that frustrates me on an almost daily basis.

I agree, this is annoying. I'll address this for the next release. Due to time constraints this may take a while however.

    best, simon
