#462 Segfault on message read

Hi there, I'm very new to gabber and unfortunately the
introduction hasn't been good.

I'm just set it up on Mandrake 9.2 (version 0.8.8)
using the Australian server.

Yahoo seems to work fine, but I have a flashing message
icon on my task bar and next to the server in the
Roster area of the interface and when I click on either
of these I get a segfault.

Any ideas what this could be and how to track it down?

I am also experiencing the same problem from the Mandrake
9.2 distro, I have tried updating to the mandrake cooker
version (0.8.8-5), to no avail.

Viewing user details, sending a message or contact or chat
or basically doing anything to a user with an incoming
message crashes gabber.

I sent myself a message using the jabber network to make
sure that it wasn't a n aol or icq or msn problem, and sure
enough the error still occured using pure jabber.

This is a pretty cripling error, not being able to answer or
read messages or send unrelated messages to those in your
list that have mesages waiting!

Please somebody tell us how to fix this.

P.S. I have tried compiling in the past and it has just been
way to difficult, something about automake, it confuses the
hell out of me.

I'm sorry, I haven't really been and don't plan on working on
Gabber 1 anymore. Any free time I get has been dedicated to
Gabber 2. See http://gabber.sourceforge.net/

Hopefully Mandrake will have Gabber 2 packages for you soon
enough.
