Well, to reply to myself, it appears that I've discovered the problem. =
As
far as I can tell, SEL_UNMAP is called rather inconsistently under =
Windows
[1]. However, I discovered that SEL_CONFIGURE will tell me everything I =
need
to know (including the answer to the other question I was going to ask). =
So,
I think I'm a happy camper for the time being.

[1] Well, I know it's probably very consistent if you know what's it's
supposed to do, but I sure can't figure out what it's supposed to do.
