Hi Franck / Michael - Wow, really appreciate the kind response. I've read through your messages and tried a few things, below. I hope this isn't too much information, and if you have any spare time, I'd love to get this working. If I can get it that way, I might just make an fwknop add-on for the readynas community. I did this: # apt-get install libpcap0.8-dev Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these: The following packages have unmet dependencies: fwknop-server: Depends: libc6 (>= 2.15) but 2.7-18lenny7 is to be installed Depends: libfko1 (= 2.0.4-2) but it is not installable Depends: libpcap0.8 (>= 0.9.8) but 0.9.5-1 is to be installed libpcap0.7-dev: Conflicts: libpcap0.8-dev but 0.9.5-1 is to be installed libpcap0.8-dev: Conflicts: libpcap-dev Conflicts: libpcap0.7-dev but 0.7.2-7 is to be installed E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution). Then this: # apt-get install libpcap0.8-dev Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required: libpcap0.7 python2.4-minimal python2.4 Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them. So the dev files are well installed. Maybe a different release of libpcap as you mentionned Michael. What libpcap packages have you installed on your system? http://packages.qa.debian.org/libp/libpcap.html Regards, -- Franck Joncourt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get 100% visibility into Java/.NET code with AppDynamics Lite!
