Yes, this problem happens with me too. I sent off an email to the developer about it in about August I think. The response was that the bug has been noted. Looking forward to a fix for it !

It appears this is related to the FTP timer thread not getting cleaned up; it fires 60 seconds after an FTP connection is initiated to try and kill hung FTP sessions.

I have also experienced this issue as I have tried setting the update to every hour and it still updates every minute. This is a major bug for me as it burdens a limited bandwidth with needless updates.

I tried the update and I think it works if you don't go to the settings. If you set it and then close out completely and restart it is working. But when I went into the setting and changed it to 1 hour it started uploading every 1 minute. I have not had time to do a conclusive test of this. But that is what appeared to happen when I first installed it. And yes, I had cleaned the old install out including the registry.
