FurCoder now uses the FOX-1.7 series of the FOX library. This is a "development" version, but the last stable release of the 1.6 series hasn't seen an upgrade since 2019, so it's about time for an upgrade. The appearance hasn't changed from one update to the other. FurCoder looks and works the same, as there wasn't much that needed to be rewritten for the new libraries.
Changes:
) Bug fixes to avoid seg faults when processing defective fur codes.
) Added a pop up menu to the code enter line edit for Cut, Copy, Paste< Delete, and Select all.
*) Streamlined some code.
This is a bug fix release as a problem was discovered that led to aborts on some versions of the Fur Code. Includes the latest stable FOX version.
This release cleans up the code considerably by removing kludge and streamlining the internals. Removed function: GetMeanings -- transferred the same functionality to the specific functions that called it. Used regular expressions to stream line code. Also updated the presentation to make it look nicer and easier to read.
Added new features: free floating menu and tool bars. Cleaned up some logical problems to make the program more user friendly. Cleaned up some code. Added a Mercurial archive of newest update
FurCoderCXX point release. This new release includes a fix to make the welcome screen more presentable. Previously available as a patch to FurCoderCXX-1.1.3.
Also added: debug compile option to configure. Includes an up to date version of the FOX libraries.
The file, patch-1.1.3.a.gz contains a fix that will make the application look more presentable. It doesn't affect functionality.
This is a new release that includes the latest stable FOX distribution, as the app depends on having the FOX libraries installed. Installing FOX isn't difficult and includes a couple of nice apps: a scientific calculator and the Addie text editor.
It is also a minor bug fix release that corrects for a problem that could lead to a failure to decode properly.
Also added new autoconf macros, but this should remain transparent to the end user, (unless s/he has some need to run autoconf on the package).
A new update that cleans up the package structure considerably, and includes some bug fixes. Changed icons to *.xpm types since some users don't have the PNG development libs.
This new release clears up a few minor bugs. It also adds print capability, with new menu entry and toolbar button. This new release will deal with problematic user data in a more graceful manner, and with fewer application crashes.
FurCoderCXX-1.1.0 has just been added. Changes include a more comprehensive main menu and toolbar, and improved, less comfusing user interface. Internally, the code has been extensively rewritten to remove dependencies on outside programs. This rewrite has removed considerable "kludge", many subtle bugs, and made the app more "bomb proof".
Removing outside dependencies has also made the installation simpler and easier.
This latest upgrade of the FurCoderCXX includes some bug fixes which improve the config file text parsers. This fix should improve both the presentation of menu items, and reduce the potential for a misread that could crash the application.
The FurCoderCXX is a graphical app for the creation/decryption of "Fur Codes". This application has the same functionality as its Ruby cousin, the FurCoder. However, this version is written in C++, using the FOX GUI toolkit. Using C++ directly gives a faster, more responsive, application. There is no waiting for the graphical interface to update when the individual widgets need to be activated or deactivated.... read more
