#9 Transcoding of RAW picture files to jpg

No

Many modern digital cameras can be configured to produce lossless "RAW" files instead of lossy jpg files. But many clients (PS3 for example) only support display of jpg pictures. It would be great if FUPPES could transcode these to jpg for these clients. One complication is that there is no single standardd RAW format. Adobe has proposed a standards, but many manufacturers have not yet adopted it. Here is a link ot some info on an open source library for converting various RAW files to TIFF: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DCRaw

Thanks!

Oh, I forgot to mention I do not think this capability is available in ANY other UPNP server.

    This is a great idea.

I will implement an opportunity to create a "conversion chain" e.g.
    1. convert raw to tiff using dcraw
    2. convert tiff to jpeg/png (and rescale) using imagemagick

What is the file extension of a raw file?
And can you please send me one test file.

    Thanks!

Thanks for taking a look at this. There are several RAW formats. I "think" DCRaw handles all the major ones. My Nion camera produces "NEF" files. Picture attached.

Actually, attachment failed because the file was too big. I can send it to you via e-mail if you send me your address.

dcraw support is included in current SVN
I still have some problems with ImageMagick on windows and without it the dcraw support is quite useless. So dcraw on windows will take some more time but it works on linux.
