With some new software coming onto itunes, (MLPlayer Lite) in my case, but other DLNA clients for these platforms, Pictures and Music (MP3 in my case) all work fine and play, stream, but the video support does not work.

Has anyone worked on the transcode details needed to support these platforms?

You should always use MP4 container and H.264 codec for video (resolution width 480) and AAC codec for the audio. That should be fine. Divx or avi are not supported by IOS.
