mdrecord and faster titling

Funky MD progresses quite well, now we've got "mdrecord" a shell script to do fully-fledged recording and titling from your PC to MiniDisc. You can even record a whole MP3 album this way! And: all formats supported by sox' "play" command are also supported by the mdrecord feature (in fact, mdrecord just calls sox' "play" command to do the audio output). Also, titling is now 2,4 times faster than before! (I've found a good level of button press delay that works okay). All this crazy stuff is to be found in CVS - but there will be a 0.2 release soon, i guess =) Please, mail me your comments =)

Funky MD 0.1 available

The first version of Funky MD, the MiniDisc software for Linux, is now available for download on the Funky MD homepage.

This release includes "funkymdcli", a command-line utility for using remote-control functions directly on a terminal. Titling support is not available through the command-line interface, although it is already included in the sources. Please submit your comments and feedback to my E-Mail adress on the contact page of the Funky MD website.... read more

Funky MD Homepage goes online

The Funky MD Homepage goes online for the first time, showing some nice photograph of the interface, and a screenshot of a testing release. You will also find available and planned features on the homepage. There are also some first thoughts about the structure of the software (because of the need for root privileges when accessing the parallel port). So, let's hope the project makes good progress in the future. And if anybody has some comments or suggestions, feel free to send me a message! -- thp4... read more
