Hi Geert, only the "Exact Copy" Profile-Type will delete files. In case you have files in your local directory that you want to preserve (like your .git / .svn directory) you can do that with filters. I'll update the documentation to remove the wrong section. HTH, Christoph P.S.: sorry for the late reply, I had no access to my computer where I do FullSync development. Dear Fullsync, The FullSync utility is a fantastic tool! Except the following important behavior is not really working: From the documentation regarding "publish/update": ".. deleted files in source will also be deleted on the destination" * Unfortunately this is not true and the deleted files in source will NOT be deleted on the destination Is there any trick to get this working for "publish/update"? Hi, FullSync stores it's configuration in C:\Users\your-username\.config\fullsync\ in files called profiles.xml and preferences.properties. You can back up both of these files and place them in the same path on the newly installed windows computer. If your username changes you need to adjust the path accordingly. Hi, At first: good software! Question. There is the SAMBA server (FreeBSD with ZFS) and dozen of users with attached disks. Each users with own ZFS volume and quota. FullSync just at specified time does mirror user's folders to the attached disk. But when I configure FullSync to copying files via smb (not file), FullSync each time overwrite destination even if there was no changes of src. On the server via stat command I see no changes of time modification. But via Total Commander the time modification is occur. Via attached disk FullSync works as expected. --- Vitaliy |

Hi, are you on windows? On Windows you can edit the fullsync.ini file (in the FullSync installation folder which is by default C:\Program Files (x86)\FullSync\FullSync) and add a line next to the main.class line like vmarg.1=-Dorg.apache.commons.vfs2.provider.ftp.FtpFileSystemConfigBuilder.ENCODING=UTF-8 or vmarg.1=-Dorg.apache.commons.vfs2.provider.ftp.FtpFileSystemConfigBuilder.ENCODING=Cp1252 I don't know what encoding your FTP-Server expects so you may need to try a few from https://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/technotes/guides/intl/encoding.doc.html HTH, Christoph Am 2017-12-12 um 16:51 schrieb ful...@li...: > Hi, > > I like to use full sync to sync a ftp folder but I'm getting a > encoding problem. Hi, I like to use full sync to sync a ftp folder but I'm getting a encoding problem. It's possible to set the encoding on any preferences? For example, it sync the file name "Acção Sensibilização.pdf" to "Acção Sensibilização.pdf"... Why that? Thanks. |

Dear Respondent, This questionnaire is part of my PhD thesis in the area of improving design smell detection. The purpose of the study is to measure the concordance level of human experts against the design smell detection tools. We analyzed the FullSync-0.10.2 project and detected the set of God Class (Large Class or The Blob) that you can find in this questionnaire. Completing this questionnaire should take about 10 minutes. I would appreciate your kind attention and cooperation on sending your questionnaire feedback as soon as possible. Hi, FullSync has a built in scheduler that you coud use to run profiles at specific times throughout the day. If that isn't what you are looking for you could also use another task scheduler (Windows has a built in one) to run FullSync profiles using the -r command line argument. To do that you would schedule a task with FullSync.exe (absolute path) and arguments: -r "Profile Name" Br, Christoph Am 2017-05-15 um 12:33 schrieb ful...@li...: > Dears, > > Good day .. There are two things I could think of: * Configuration problem: wrong username / password, unsupported login method,... the FullSync log file may contain further hints about this. * Unlikely but possible: Your hostname is a dynamic DNS based name, the Java runtime used by FullSync may cache name resolution results for a long time and your IP address might have changed since FullSync first tried to access it. Restarting FullSync might help in this case. General Warning: FTP is horrible. Connecting an FTP server to the internet is a really bad idea. Switching to SFTP (not FTPS) and using Key-Based authentication is much better in terms of security, privacy and functionality. If both options from above don't lead to anything then a network trace using Wireshark or a similar tool may be needed to figure out what the problem really is. The Two Way Sync does not support deletions, it will always detect the file as missing on the other side and copy the existing file to the other side. Currently the only mode that supports deletion is Exact Copy. > The other thing is, if I setup the whole /home/user folder, is it > possible to exclude/include some folders and also hidden files which > have a trailing . before the file or folder name. The "Profile Details" dialog has a tab called "Filters" where you could setup filters that exclude specific files or directories (like "Exclude" "File Name" "begins with" ".") if you enable the "Applies to directories" option this would also exclude directories whose name starts with a ".". I'm not sure how far that will get you tough, $HOME may contain some special files that FullSync doesn't support (may depend on distribution and desktop environment). > > Best Theo > > > PS: Can I also see or search in older entries on this mailing list? Hi, I use the above version on my ubuntu Linux machine. It works almost perfect, big thanks to the Developers... The only thing I can't understand is, if I delete on the target a file or a folder, the file will be back after the next synchronization. I use tow way sync, so I thought if I delete something on the Backup Server it should also be deleted on the source Computer. The other thing is, if I setup the whole /home/user folder, is it possible to exclude/include some folders and also hidden files which have a trailing . before the file or folder name. Best Theo PS: Can I also see or search in older entries on this mailing list? |

Hello Oliver, I could achieve this using a Filter that I configured like: Include any file that matches all of the following Unchecked "Applies to directories". and File path, matches regexp, with the regex: "^(\./)?[^\.].+/.*$" without the quotes. It's a bit more complicated than it needs to be because I plan to remove the ./ in front of the file path for every file in a future FullSync version. As a consequence the regex above does not sync directories that have only a single character as name - but I guess that the chance that somebody has directories with single letters as name is rather low. :) Br, Christoph 2016-07-27 17:24 GMT+02:00 Rafa Oliver <raf...@gm...>: > Hello Christian, > > I’m using your great software Fullsync and I would like to apply a file > filter to exclude the files on the root local windows folder (F:\SyncFTP) > and only upload to the FTP changes made in its subfolders, so I’m trying to > apply something like “exclude files which path is /” with no success. > > Files directly stored in the root folder F:\SyncFTP are processed by > another software, this is why I need to exclude them. > > Hope you can help with this one. > > Thank you!! > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > What NetFlow Analyzer can do for you? Hello Christian, I’m using your great software Fullsync and I would like to apply a file filter to exclude the files on the root local windows folder (F:\SyncFTP) and only upload to the FTP changes made in its subfolders, so I’m trying to apply something like “exclude files which path is /” with no success. Files directly stored in the root folder F:\SyncFTP are processed by another software, this is why I need to exclude them. Hope you can help with this one. Thank you!! |

Today I have configured in fullsync the following structure: -my source files should be sent to the target, when I create a file in the source, it is replicated to the target. But when I change any information in the source file, the data file is prevailing in the target, and not the source as it should be. What I have to do? Could you send me some setting pre-set? I want to synchronize the updated files of both the source and the destination, I'm using the ftp protocol Hi, this sounds like it could be that the FTP server uses another timezone than your Computer. FullSync currently can't detect the time difference and thus will consider files as changed directly after the upload. Now if you sync and immediately change a file locally FullSync will probably get a time stamp form the server that is newer than the file you just edited locally and will thus sync your change from the FTP server to your computer. If you could switch to SFTP that should fix your problem. If your files don't change on the server, you could also switch to Publish/Update instead of Two Way Sync. Depending on the time difference you may only see the problem if you modify files locally within a few hours after the last sync. If all of those suggestions don't help you could also create 2 separate profiles one for the upload and one for the download. HTH, Christoph |

Good morning. When using the fullsynce type "two ways", the program does not update the file with the most current date. Today I have configured in fullsync the following structure: -my source files should be sent to the target, when I create a file in the source, it is replicated to the target. But when I change any information in the source file, the data file is prevailing in the target, and not the source as it should be. What I have to do? Could you send me some setting pre-set? I want to synchronize the updated files of both the source and the destination, I'm using the ftp protocol |
