I see that there are other reports related to whitespace in file or directory names, but I didn't see this one:

a file named 'abc123[ ].txt' cannot be uploaded, while there's no problem uploading 'abc123[].txt'

I'm running fugu 1.2.0 on macosx 10.4.8 on a iBook G4.

the server is a Debian GNU/Linux on powerpc.
