It's currently not possible to backup multiple sources in one profile. I wonder, because duplicity supports this feature with --include, --include-regexp, --exclude-regexp (http://duplicity.nongnu.org/duplicity.1.html).

Want I need:

~/.duply/system/conf

SOURCE="/etc/"
SOURCE="/var/spool/cron/tabs"
SOURCE="/home"

As in BackupNinja (https://labs.riseup.net/code/projects/backupninja/wiki/Dup)

    That's simple and already possible.

    What you do is define '/' as source and use duplicity exclude globbing file to in/exclude what you need. e.g.

    + /etc
    + /home
    + /var/spool/cron/tabs
    - **

    this explicitely includes the above paths but excludes everything else. check
    http://duplicity.nongnu.org/duplicity.1.html#sect9
    for more info on that.

    That means that duply's exclude file supports an include pattern by adding a leading plus (+)?

    no. what you perceive a duply's exclude file is actually a 'exclude-globbing-filelist' as described in duplicity's manpage.

    these support explicit in and excluding by adding +,- in front. be aware that there needs to be a space between the sign and the path.
