#4 ftpmount fails

When I run ftpmount I get back the following:

mount: fs type ftpfs not supported by kernel

I am running Mandrake 8.2 (Kernel version 2.4.18).

I downloaded ftpfs-0.6.2-k2.4.tar.gz, uncompressed it
and ran make install. It seemed to build without
errors. Is there more I need to do to install this?
