I too am having problems mounting a Micro$oft ftp server. I am trying to connect to an NT4 box running IIS, and get the same symptoms as `skeletor`.(ie ftpmount does not report an error, but an ls reports not files (not even '.' and '..'))
I suspect that ftpfs doesn't like taking to M$ boxes, because of some non-standard thing that IIS does.
(BTW: I am using ftpfs-0.6.2 with Kernel 2.4.9)

I have the same problem. I can use -active to get to local ftp servers, but I can't connect to ftp servers beyond the firewall (need to use pasv). Is there a workaround for this?
