Automatic parsing of an FTP URL link (and SFTP when used as the schema in the URL) is supported in Ftpcube. It has been since 0.4.x. Unfortunately, there was a bug in the beta version of 0.5.0 which has been fixed in CVS. The full 0.5.0 release should be out shortly. I'm leaving this open regarding the visited site history. This feature does not exist.
