[Ftdi-usb-sio-devel] USB serial converter

I have just obtained a USC 1000 as described on the page I linked here from
<http://ftdi-usb-sio.sourceforge.net>
I want to use the converter to connect a serial Zip drive to an iMac.  I
have downloaded the mac driver and installed it, but cannot get the iMac to
recognise the converter, it tells me I don't have the software loaded.
Anyone able to assist me?
