I'd be surprised if there's anything the FTDI hardware can accomplish with
ftdi-usb-sio, but not with libftdi.  The kernel driver is for convenience,
as I understand it.  And when it does what you need, it's very convenient,
but I think its scope is limited (as it should be).

Now, in the realm of functionality common to both, for all I know, maybe one
piece of software has a bug the other doesn't and vice-versa, if that's what
you're saying...
