Managed to get compiled using macports version http://fsv.darwinports.com/ but would not run on Leopard. I got

The initial framework is drawn on screen, pause then crash. :-(
Well got it to work on OS Leopard.
Needed to use macports to install quite a few pre-reqs to get the X development environment before installing fsv the same way.
Start X11, the XQuartz vesion, Start a window manager TWM for example.
It does not play well with multiple monitors (mixed sizes) and spaces but It does work.
