- priority: 1 --> 2
I recently downloaded and installed Developer Preview 2
on a test machine. On this machine, Firefox was the
default browser and I hadn't launched Firefox for a few
weeks. Since I last launched Firefox, a new version had
been made available.
With that in mind, here's the scenario...
Launch Frontier DP2, it initializes and says it's going
to launch a browser window to complete.
Firefox launches (actually, Frontier asks where Firefox
is located, could be related to my system's config). At
this point, Firefox asks if it's ok to update. I
confirmed it was. Firefox installs the update, quits,
and then relaunches, automatically taking the user to
the "I updated Firefox" page ... and here's the bug ...
not the page Frontier wanted the user to go to.
Admittedly, there's no easy way to force Frontier to
worry about Firefox updating. The issue is, I quit
Frontier and when I relaunched Frontier, Frontier did
not relaunch the browser configuration process. I
believe this is where we can fix things -- if the
browser config doesn't complete, it should be launched
again when Frontier launches. Also, a dialog box should
be thrown up in Frontier saying "did you successfully
complete config" or something similar.
Take care!
