Hi, I was curious to start fiddling with the source code. I am an expirenced programmer but not with palm development. How do I compile and build Frodo for the palm? What environment do I need?

I think you would use pilirc and prctools, not sure though as I can't program!!!!! But I'll look around and see what I can find.
I think it is codewarrior. Also try prctools (think that's the name). Sorry but I have no programming exp for the palm os !!!!!
