defining the shader program directly in the url field does not work,
example:

DEF vs ShaderPart {
type "VERTEX"
url "
uniform float bumpScale;
uniform vec2 textureScale;
...
"
}

    Apologies for the late reply.

    There is an open issue in the Web3D Consortium - how to specify whether a URL is a shader script or a real URL. InstantReality uses the "if it is more than 1 line it is a script" but that can be valid.

    The approach suggested, and we agree with, is to start with the URI "data:text/plain:" and let that tell us if it is a string-encoded script or not.

    Hope this helps...
