Hello, I had to do a re-install of freevo-1.2.3, and was pretty sure I followed the same steps as before (when I was successfully able to get the OSD to show up). However, this time, my PVR machine goes into frambuffer mode, and "freevo_dep" and "freebo" gets started, but when I swith over to "AUX" on my TV, it just has a command prompt (i.e., it's bascially just a monitor, albeit with really bad graphics!) I am not sure what Idid incorrectly this time. Here is what I did: 1. Untarred/gzipped freevo-1.2.3.tar.gz to /usr/local, and renamed the resulting directory to "freevo" 2. Went into /usr/local/freevo and issued a "make" command, which successfully made all the necessary modules 3. Created /etc/freevo, and copied /usr/local/freevo/boot/boot_config to it. 4. Copied the "freevo_dep" and "freevo" scripts in /usr/local/freebo/boot to /etc/rc.d/nit.d; added "mga_ram_size=16" to the "insmod mga_vid.o" command in the /etc/rc.d/init.d/freevo script. 5. Copied the "matroxset" binary/script to /usr/local/bin The only other thing I did was edit the /etc/freevo/boot_config script, and remove the "--remote=lirc" bit from the FREEVO_OPTIONS line, since I don't (yet) have a remote receiver (I was going to try controlling via the keyboard from a remote machine). Here is the script I use to get everything started: --- start_freevo --- #!/bin/sh ## Start framebuffer mode /sbin/modprobe i2c-matroxfb /sbin/modprobe matroxfb_Ti3026 /sbin/modprobe matroxfb_crtc2 /sbin/modprobe matroxfb_maven ## Start Freevo /etc/rc.d/init.d/freevo_dep start /etc/rc.d/init.d/freevo start --- start_freevo --- The "Start framebuffer mode" part was taken straight from the "modules" script that comes with MPlayer, and which I successfully used previously, so I am pretty sure it's okay. Does anyone see anything I missed? Thanx, in advance (again!) ===== -- Alan Murrell <si...@ya...> ______________________________________________________________________ Post your ad for free now! http://personals.yahoo.ca |
