Hi Duncan, Thanks for the response. I have included the log file. I also captured a ps output during the record and another after. During: freevo 20829 20757 0 21:18 pts/0 00:00:00 /bin/sh -c /usr/bin/mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile /sda1/Today/In_Progress/03-27_21:00_KIRO_News:_Special_Edition.ts "dvb://KIROHD" freevo 20830 20829 1 21:18 pts/0 00:00:00 /usr/bin/mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile /sda1/Today/In_Progress/03-27_21:00_KIRO_News:_Special_Edition.ts dvb://KIROHD After: freevo 20830 1 1 21:18 pts/0 00:00:02 /usr/bin/mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile /sda1/Today/In_Progress/03-27_21:00_KIRO_News:_Special_Edition.ts dvb://KIROHD The only way I have been able to work around this is to add `VCR_POST_REC = 'killall mplayer'` to my local_conf.py. It works, but seems a bit harsh. I'm also not sure if this will keep the reencode and commserver from running when I get around the setting those up. Thanks again! Looking at the code I don't see any reason why it should not terminate mplayer. Will you stop the recordserver, delete the log and restart the recordserver. Then record a short programme and then post the log.
