I've been trying to imoprt a VRML file from Rhino and it yileds some very interesting results.
The hull form does show-up in Freeship, but the scale is waaaay off the map. It's also not aligned with the centerline of the hydrostatic layout. Needless to say, the potential for reading files created in Rhino is there, but not fully functional as far as I can tell.
If anyone out there has had a go with this method and have gotten proper results, I'd sure like to know the ins an outs of the methodology.
I also tried the VRLM import from Rhino and got surfaces that need extensive rework. Might as well start from scratch in Freeship.
Marven your software as the potential to become a 'standard' for Naval Architects but we need straight import & export from Rhino which has become the 'de facto' modeler for NA's.
Your GHS export works great especially if you slice the hull closely and check it after in "Deadweight".
maybe its a vrml version conflict
