Latest Java updates released in April 2019 have introduced a bug which blocks displaying of images included in Freeplane nodes. It is happening in Java 8 u 212, Java 11.03 and Java 12.01. This bug is reported to be fixed in the upcoming Java versions Java 8 u 222 and Java 11.05 to be available on the 16th of July 2019. Currently you need to use older Java versions with Freeplane as a work around.
I am running a 2020 Java release and having the same problem as reported in 2019.
I am running JAVA vesion 8 Update 261 (build 1.8.0_261-b12)
My pictures that I had directly pasted into FreeMind (instead of saving them as separate image files) now show as an "X". Also my formatted LongNode text turned into html coded text
Both these features seemed to work fine until yesterday.
