after macOS Siarra upgrade to 10.12.5 on my MacBook Air, any operations on mind map is very very slow, even inputing character in tree node. and the power consume grows obviously.
my freeplane version is 1.5.20, my Java runtime version is 1.8.0_131.
any workaround is expected for me

Try version 1.5.21_01 dmg including its own Java runtime and report hier if it solves the problem

It works, thanks. Hope it will be the same in stable release.

Speed still seems O.K. using FP 1.5.20 on Mac OSX ElCapitan/10.11.6 after latest security update (2017-002)

My story is the other way round. Running Sierra on a Macbook, I moved to 1.5.21 (from several versions back) and performance dropped off dramatically - especially noticeable in scrolling and entering text into a node.

Please download https://sourceforge.net/projects/freeplane/files/freeplane%20stable/freeplane_app_jre-1.5.21.dmg/download again. It should be bundled with jre 1.8_121 now.

Originally I boundled it with 1.8_131 by mistake. You can check running Java version in Freeplane about box.

      Please report how it works.

Unfortunately I can not reproduce the problems on my own mac books.

        Dramatically better, thanks :-)

The jre 1.8_121 bundle is a huge performance improvement over 1.8_131. Navigating the nodes either with the mouse or with the keys work smooth again. Also typing node contents is 'real time' again.
    Thanks Dimitry!

I still am not able to see the problem on the mac book I got.

Could please all who had this problem with Java 1.8.0_131 and Freeplane 1.5.20
run "About This Mac" -> "System Report", save your configuration to file using "File" -> "Save..." and
upload the saved file to https://sourceforge.net/p/freeplane/bugs/2498/ ?
