When i was using 8.0.1 release 64x i had the ldap server setup with SSL on and for Auxiliary Parameters i had the following
ldap_version 3
timelimit 30
bind_timelimit 30
bind_policy soft
pam_ldap_attribute uid
port 636
now using 8.0.4 release 64x it doesn't now work. i just installed it and set it all up as i had it before, haven't done any troubleshooting. when NOT using port 636 or SSL it works fine. nothing has change on the ldap server i use so its on freenas. Would be nice if we could get it working for security issues but i'll just use non SSL for now as its not a HUGE deal
