Environment:

FreeNAS: 7RC1 running as a Virtual Machine of VMware Workstation running on Win XP SP3
Disk: Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB attached as whole disk.
motherboard and disk, support SATA2, other disk (500GB) attached and configured in the very same way doesn't present any problems,

The disk never mounts and seems Freenas is not able to connect it.

The disk passes all Seagate tests, SMART, Short & Long Test under Windows, which recognizes it and is able to create and mount it with no problems. I believe that there is no HW problems.

I made several tests:
mounting the disk as a "whole disk" ,unpartitioned
mounting a partition and tested with partitions of several sizes, with same negative results.

If I creave a virtual disk in windows partiotion of this disk, it works without any problems, other partitions at the very same time, it doesn't mount.

Thanks,

Flijfi

    Seems FreeBSD has some problems with the disk. I can not do anything at this point because i do not develop FreeBSD, i simply use it for FreeNAS. Do you have tested it on real hardware? Maybe its a VMWare problem?

    You can open a bug report on the FreeBSD side to help it to fix that bug.

    Sorry && Regards

    I'll try to mount it without VMware as soon as I be able to shutdown the box.
    I let you know.
    Thanks.
