#554 boot process stops with root mount file specification prompt

When I try to install the live CD (versions 686.3 and above) the boot process stops with a "root mount file specification" prompt. I was able to locate and install version 686.0 successfully.

I'm installing to a PII 450 with 256mb of ram.

I've seen several others mention this issue in the forums without a real solution.

Hi,
i currently do not know the exact reason for this issue, but i assume that it is not possible to extract the root file system image because of less memory. That's why the prompt is displayed because it does not find any root file system that should be extracted to a RAM disk if everything went correct.
