Hmmm, stupid question back, isn't it so that you will never see the whole disk space? You only export a share and not the disk with SMB/CIFS. I see 0 bytes for a new created zpool shared via CIFS on Vista.

my fault:
I missed to report that after the creation of the zpool I used "zfs" command to create a "zfs file system", e.g. a home directory for the local FreeNAS user., which I then used for the file sharing.
There is no reservation or quota set for this zfs share (but I did on another test system: this was working properly by displaying the correct quota space amount in Mac OS Finder). The quota is not the issue. It is really about the zpool import & export command.
