#543 ZFS: share reports wrong size; export & import of zpool nece

Setup:

Full Install using
FreeNAS-i386-LiveCD-0.7.4519.iso

One harddisk, using partition 1 for system, partition 2 is zfs pool, partition 3 is swap

Behaviour:

An afp or cifs share on the zfs pool is reporting a wrong size of available space: the zfs pool has 145 Gbytes, reported after reboot of FreeNAS will be 89 Mbyte (in Mac OS Finder, system status of FreeNAS is ok).

Only by

zpool export hd & zpool import hd the correct size will be displayed.

Hmmm, stupid question back, isn't it so that you will never see the whole disk space? You only export a share and not the disk with SMB/CIFS. I see 0 bytes for a new created zpool shared via CIFS on Vista.

my fault:

I missed to report that after the creation of the zpool I used "zfs" command to create a "zfs file system", e.g. a home directory for the local FreeNAS user., which I then used for the file sharing.

There is no reservation or quota set for this zfs share (but I did on another test system: this was working properly by displaying the correct quota space amount in Mac OS Finder). The quota is not the issue. It is really about the zpool import & export command.
