This is a simple Freenas setup on a standard AMD mobo with 1 Gbyte RAM and 1 Tbyte hard disk. Installation is full with two partitions (FreeNAS and data). The rest of the network is a mix of W2k and XP boxes. The only service set up is SMB/CFIS with default values. Having copied about 150 Gbyte of files onto the new FreeNAS box I decided to change the WebGUI password and also change the disk power down to 60 minutes (was previously always on). Result was a disk detached error message and the loss of all config information and data, including the directories previously set up on the data disk and all the data contained in them. Not best pleased!
