Re: [ 1936083 ] MTU change

I believe that my network card does support at, as I'm using the following barebone PC: http://us.shuttle.com/barebone/Models/sg31g2.html

ETHERNET Marvell 88E8056
IEEE 802.3u 100Base-T specification revision 1.0
100Mb/s and 1Gb/s operation
Support Wake-On-LAN function

Also my network is gigabit based, with switch supporting jumbo frames and all PC's connected to it have a gigabit ehternet.

    Hi,
OK, you're right, maybe the hardware supports it, but then the FreeBSD driver doesn't support it. Sorry.

    Regards

    Hi again,

the msk driver seems to support jumbo frames only for Yukon II chips. Don't know if this is used in your Barebone.

    http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=msk&apropos=0&sektion=0&manpath=FreeBSD+6.3-RELEASE&format=html

Did it work to set MTU to 3000? Which is the highest working MTU. Please try to set MTU to 9000 using console. This will display more informations when it fails.

    Regards
    Volker

    Hello,

Apologies for not getting back earlier, I was very busy at work. I just upgraded to the latest beta release 0.69 (revision 3141) built on Mon Apr 14 20:09:09 CEST 2008. Than I tried to change MTU setting to 9000 (via web interface) and it worked perfectly. So I believe that it's fixed now. Do you still want me to run command line mtu change to verify anything?
