IIRC that were my own inventions, because there was no source of bdos 
available at that time (at least not the version from TOS 3.x)


I've attached an old archive of cpm sources (can't remember where i got that 
from). Seems those are more close to the routines in TOS 1.00. Amongst others, 
there is a variable int osmem[4000], and also a comment that the len was 
bumped to 4000 in 1986.
