Uh. Even with aranym-jit, gcc on mint is still quite slow. I prefer to cross-
compile such packages on a linux box.

I'm not sure ether you are aware of it, but i already updated some packages 
and made them available on http://tho-otto.de/crossmint.php This are just tar 
archives however, not RPMs
