as regards the untranslated strings, what about appending "[translate me]"
in beta releases and release candidates while appending "*" for the final
release? If an untranslated string is a bug of sorts, should not this bug be
as unobtrusive as possible? And if a used spots an untranslated string, will
not she see it as obvious that it is a bug and report it? Also, have you
looked at the approaches that other applications have taken? (For instance,
Kafenio appends "*" to untranslated strings.)
Surely you personally will not have to feel to pain of seeing untranslated
strings attached with "[translate me]" in German localization, as that is
one that will most definitely be complete. Other translations may be not so
