Hi, I've created some buttons and am working on some banners which people can use to link to the FreeMind site. This is follow-up on my suggestion that we should make it easier for people to get FreeMind. You can see what I've done on the Marketing page, http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Marketing . Let me know what you think. Thanks, Ray P.S.: I think we should add a link on the main page to the button page, and set up one of the download buttons to point right at the download screen. That will make it easier for someone who comes to the site to find and download FreeMind. |

Hi Ray, > Let me know what you think. I like your idea and your initiative. I would rather create another page than put the buttons on the marketing page, because it is likely that other people could create and publish other buttons and it could blow up. And I do not understand why each button appears more than once there. Further I do not understand current structure of the marketing page at all. I do not have rights to change your wiki role so that you can edit the wiki main page for creating a link, but I could do it for you if you send me the text to be included. Dimitry |

I'll put the buttons on a separate page and then send the the text for a link on the main page. The reason there are several copies of each button is that I wanted to cover the main formats: GIF, PNG, and JPG. I'll probably add SVG as well. This is what is done on many other sites. I may be able to use a table to reduce the space they take up, though. It would be good if we could pick out a standard font to use for our logo and for banners. Ray |

Hi Ray, fact is, I personally do not like the logotype on which you have based the buttons, but that does not matter, as the rest of the FreeMind team seems to like it, and they are the FreeMind team after the release of 0.9.0. However, could you please fix in the buttons the spelling of "FreeMind", so that it does not read "Freemind"? Apart from that, the buttons are basically okay. Also, when editing FreeMind wiki, I have sticked to Wikipedia's policy of setting the section titles in first uppercase, the rest lowercase, that is instead of "Section Title" using "Section title". Can you please stick to that policy too? Dan, I'll get those changes made tomorrow. What logotype do you prefer? I just used the splash screen icon since it was handy. I hope you'll still be involved in the project, even if you aren't able to be project leader. I've enjoyed working with you. Hi Ray, better than the butterfly used in the splash screen, I prefer the one used in the application icon. However, as regards logotype, the preference of FreeMind team should be relevant, not my personal preference.
